Huaneng Power swings to net loss in H1

Huaneng Power International Co Ltd, China's top power producer, said it posted a net loss of 470.33 million yuan ($68.85 million) in the first half to June, against a net profit of 2.96 billion yuan a year earlier, mainly due to the surging coal prices.

Entergy OKs nuke payments

Entergy Nuclear has dropped efforts to get out of paying the New York Power Authority as much as $432 million over the next six years under revenue-sharing agreements involving the company's FitzPatrick and Indian Point nuclear plants, state officials and Entergy confirmed Monday.
