- Outer Cook Island Children to Benefit from OLPC: The Cook Islands have been chosen to take part in an OLPC project and SPC is working with the Office of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Education. There are 70 free OLPC laptops donated which are being stored at OPM until the choice has been made as to which outer islands school will be take part in the pilot project. Children in remote areas were being left behind in the age of technology and there unable to develop the important skills needed to ensure they have a viable career path in the future.
